The Author Learning Center offers a vast library of resources covering topics related to writing, editing, publishing, and marketing. No matter what stage you’re at in your journey, you can find helpful tips, industry knowledge, and the encouragement you need to reach your goals. This includes articles, live and recorded webinars, video interviews, and more. There are two primary ways to search for resources on the Author Learning Center website:
The Author Learning Center’s entire catalog of content is searchable. You can type keywords or phrases into the search bar located at the top of the ALC homepage, and the website’s search engine will provide a list of related content, with the most relevant resources listed first.
For example, you can type the phrase “overcoming writer’s block” in the search box, and then hit the “Enter” key. The search engine will pull up all content that is a match for that phrase.
You can then filter this list of resources. If you are interested in reviewing something quick like a blog post or short video snippet, you can click on the bottom drop-down menu on the right sidebar and select the type of resource you wish to review: video, article, podcast, live webinar, or recorded webinar.
If you would like to see the most recent resources first, resources in alphabetical order, or the highest rated resources, you can click the drop-down menu at the top of the right sidebar and make your selection.
You can also filter by category of content. For example, if you search the term “children’s books”, but are most interested in resources related to publishing children’s books, you can click on the second drop-down filter and choose “publishing”. This will filter the content by category. The third and fourth drop-down menus will allow you to filter even further by sub-categories.

Filter by sub-categories:
If you’d prefer to look for resources by category as you start your search, you can click on the three lines to the left of the search bar. This will provide a drop-down menu that includes the four categories of “Writing, Editing, Publishing, and Marketing”, along with “Live Webinars” and “Programs”.
Let’s say your book is already published and you are looking for book marketing resources. You can select the “Marketing” category from the drop-down menu. This will take you to the list of marketing sub-categories. From there, you can choose the sub-category you’d like to browse, such as “Book Reviews”. Then, you can choose a sub-category of Book Reviews such as “Amazon.” This will display a list of related resources.
The other two resource options in the drop-down menu next to the search bar are “Live Webinars” and “Programs”:
Live Webinars
The ALC offers weekly live sessions on a variety of topics, presented by industry advisors and experts. You can view a list of upcoming events by clicking on the Live Webinars page. If you wish to register for an event, select the session you want and then click on the “Register” button. You can also access our archive of recorded webinars through a link at the top of the Live Webinars page.
Programs
ALC members have access to special programs and group-coaching opportunities throughout the year. This includes guided 60-day and 90-day group-coaching programs and the self-guided “Book in a Year” program that members can follow at their own pace.
ALC members have access to exclusive tools designed to help manage book projects and connect with fellow writers. Each member’s Author Space includes the Book Launch Tool, which allows you to set goals, track specific tasks, and monitor your progress. Once you set up a book project, you can also create an Author Circle and invite fellow writers or accountability partners who can encourage you, review your book, and provide guidance during your journey.
If looking for other online resources such as writing groups, conference directories, editor listings, or agent and publisher databases, members can access loads of helpful links through the ALC’s “Resources” pages.

This was very helpful and I wish I had seen this when I first started using the Author Learning Center because I didn't have a clue what I was doing or looking at.
