Book awards or nominations such as the Hackney Literary Award and Pulitzer Prize nomination may not have much impact on the overall success of a book, even though they are incredible honors. Author William Heath has received numerous literary awards that he is proud of, including those received for The Children Bob Moses Led, and while these awards have assisted with building some awareness for his work, they haven't necessarily helped with getting future work published. These types of accolades do bring credibility to the work and can be used in book marketing, as Heath explains.
