Bestselling author and Wannabe Press founder Russell Nohelty has learned that it's much more difficult to pitch and sell fiction books to readers versus nonfiction books. Most nonfiction books offer a solution to a pain point or problem, so as long as you convince the readers you're the right person to provide that solution, they will likely buy your book. For fiction, Russell finds that the purchase is usually a want and not a need, making it much harder to make the sale. It's a longer process of building a connection with fiction readers and competing with other forms of entertainment.
