When you’re done writing your book, that’s only half the battle, points out journalist and author Ray Richmond. Authors also have to know how to promote their work to the public. You may have a great book, but it won’t get seen if you don’t put in the effort to spread the word. Richmond gives an example of his friend Ivor Davis, who covered the Charles Manson trial and recently wrote a book about his experience with the case. Davis promoted his work on Facebook and appeared in multiple television and print interviews, which was part of the key to success for his book.
