When it came to writing his book, Jim was sure of his message. Yet, he didn't know how to bring all the elements together to create a book that could really speak to readers.
Then he discovered the Author Learning Center (ALC)…
I was inspired to write my book because of the many people I've met who tell me I'm so "lucky" that I get to do something that I enjoy for a living, as if they didn't have that same opportunity. My book is meant to show that a person's talent is the starting point for their personal business of providing a service that fulfills the needs of the marketplace, while satisfying a creative need to express ourselves.
Author Learning Center opened my eyes to a wide variety of writers, topics and markets. I really appreciate the community I've found in the ALC. As members, many of us share the same challenges and have many of the same questions about the practical side of writing and publishing. The ALC puts the many pieces of the puzzle into focus so I can see the big picture.
Knowing that I am sharing something with the world can have a positive effect on an individual, or the entire planet for that matter, inspires me to put in the extra time and effort it takes to succeed as an author. ALC is very encouraging, and has been vital to keeping me on target and on schedule for my goals.
My advice to anyone who wants to write and publish is to see the good that your work can do for others. I see my writing more as a mission to develop the potential in others, such that they can live a more productive and rewarding life for themselves.
