My inspiration came through the undeniable love and faithfulness of God through some extremely devastating life experiences. I do not like to use cliches' but I can only describe what happened to me as "the perfect storm" of destruction. I had been very depressed for a long time which had lead to a divorce. The depression developed into bitterness, anger, blame, and unforgiveness.
My publisher introduced me to ALC as a resource as a new author. I had been looking at various online training seminars, but had not found consistent, thorough, and relevant content. ALC changed all that. Here, I found information and training on every subject I needed throughout the entire writing process, from concept, motivation, style, target audience, and the nitty-gritty business side.
The Author Space provided me with organized steps and reminders through the whole process while the webinars both live and archived taught me everything I needed to know. I learned things I did not even realize I needed to know. I was able to keep a journal of the valuable and rich advice I gleaned and refer to it often to stay on track with current and relevant trends in the publishing industry.
If I had to pick the one most helpful thing it would be the webinars. Where else could you glean so much valuable advice from so many successful authors so easily? I would have to invest a fortune to attend all these seminars to be so well trained. There is information on every aspect of the publishing process and if you catch the live version, you can even ask questions. There is nothing else like it that I have found.
To aspiring authors the first thing I would say is work hard. There is no easy way despite what the Facebook ads tell you. Get yourself in a good support group and learn everything you can get your hands on. The second thing I would advise is to keep a journal with you at all times and write down thoughts when they come. Keep it by your bed because brilliant things come to you when you are asleep. The third and final thing I would say is to not cheap out. Hire professionals for things like editing, graphics, and marketing. You will put in a lot of hard work and your book is worth it.
Many of God's people today are under severe attack in their lives and feel they are drowning in problems and issues they are desperate to overcome. Help may be hard to find because many of these issues are "untouchable" in religious circles as they are uncomfortable, embarrassing, or just too difficult to answer. Many people just put on a face, struggle through every day and hide what is tearing them apart inside because they fear being judged, condemned, or feeling inferior.
In this book Marion confronts head-on some of these challenging issues drawing from her own difficult experiences and what she put to work in her life to not only overcome but joyfully thrive and become more than a conqueror. Her life experiences are woven through revelation she has received from God's Word. Her story provides relatable and understandable illustrations and a point of contact that will bring you tangible compassion and real, achievable answers.
If you find yourself in an impossible trial then walk with Marion through this journey of hope, faith, understanding, and triumph. You will laugh, cry, sometimes shout or dance but in the end, you will know the power and faithfulness of God and his heart towards you. You will know that God has an answer and it is within your grasp. Lift your head, my friend, and get ready to soar with the eagles.
