The e-Book as a Stepping Stone - podcast

Industry leader Ken Atchity explains the benefits of publishing e-books. One of the great things about e-books is that they can be published so quickly—you can have an e-book on the market twenty-four hours after you decide you’d like to publish an e-book. E-books don’t have the same kind of status as traditionally published books, but publishing an e-book can be a good strategy for writers who haven’t been able to get anywhere with traditional publishing. If you can sell several thousand copies of an e-book, that proves there’s a market, and you can then take that information to a publisher or an agent. If you’ve had success with an e-book, you’ve already put your money where your mouth is. You’ve shown that there’s a market, so publishers will look at you completely differently.
