When bestselling children's author Sheri Fink happened upon her first book idea, she didn't know anything about the publishing world. She had attended a writing conference for a friend and ended up using the advice and information for herself once she decided to pursue publishing her story. Fink researched her publishing options and knew she didn't want to wait two or three years to get traditionally published. With an independent publishing path, she realized she could control the time line and apply her years of marketing experience and her entrepreneurial spirit to the journey. The key to a successful publishing experience, she says, is finding a mentor who has already pursued a similar path. Fink has found great success independently publishing her series of children's books and debut romance novel, all under her brand "The Whimsical World of Sheri Fink."
