David Hancock on Morgan James Publishing and The Innovative Entrepreneurial Publishing Model

David Hancock founded Morgan James Publishing over twenty years ago because of his own experiences and challenges with publishing. Early on in his writing career, he was able to secure a contract with a traditional publisher, but was discouraged by the lack of creative control and support received in the process. He was even limited on the number of author copies he could order for speaking engagements, and had to get his presentations approved by the publisher. Over time, he found that many authors had similar frustrations and challenges and he knew it could be better.

He then tried self-publishing where he was able to control everything, but struggled to build his platform and widen his distribution. This prompted him to develop an outline of a publishing model that was more supportive of the author.

Hancock's goal with creating Morgan James Publishing and The Innovative Entrepreneurial Publishing model is to help entrepreneurs that want to publish a quality book and maintain control. He teaches his clients to focus on their long-term business goals and to think two products ahead, while giving them the resources they need to be successful. Morgan James Publishing is recognized as one of the first hybrid publishers, and has gone on to win multiple awards for the books it has published.
