Even in an industry about books, it can be hard to find someone to read your work. WGA Screenwriter, author, and MFA educator Michael Tabb says the three key elements to get your work noticed are perseverance, positivity, and focusing on your goals. To stand out from the hundreds of other authors who want their work to be noticed, you need to send dynamic query letters to agents and publishers that are worth the time to be read. Your query letter needs to be short and to the point. It also needs to be written in the genre your book belongs so that you don’t simply tell them who you are, but show them who you are.
