Sheri Fink was the victim of bullying in the workplace and struggled with how to handle the situation. Driving to work one day she was overcome with emotion, which led to the idea for her first children's book, The Little Rose, the story of a rose that grows up in a weed bed and thinks she is a weed. Fink put the idea aside, not sure what to do with it, but made a promise to herself that a year from that day she would either be working for a different company or for herself. A year later and with some encouragement, she realized she could use the story for a children's book that would inspire self-esteem and self-love. Fink ran with the idea and published independently in just six months, anxious to start sharing her message. The Little Rose quickly became a bestseller and remained on the Amazon bestseller list for over sixty weeks, changing her world forever. Fink has now published a series of children's books and a debut novel, and continues to inspire both children and adults through her brand "The Whimsical World of Sheri Fink."
Sheri - Very inspirational. I love your story and look forward to having my son read some of your books. We are in the process of trying to publish a book from my son at this time. He wrote a journal about my deployment and how challenging it was for him. Do you have any words of wisdom for us as we work through this process?
