I usually begin with a Preface in order to draw my readers in: from there I go to the beginning and gradually let the story unfold. I try to avoid 'flashbacks' as I find sometimes, they interrupt the story. If I let my character have a 'flashback' I like to keep it to 1 sentence. Just published a non-fiction and now writing a fiction. Thanks for the advice Maggie Long

Thank you. I had to listen twice only because I am writing an Non-Fiction book. However, I had a revelation as I watched the second time that I can include an "insiding action" element in by story. After all, you mention that you were speaking "mostly" of fiction stories, not "just" fiction stories. Thanks again for your guidance
