Keeping Information Organized - podcast
Writing the first draft of your book is a time to get all of your ideas out on the page. But when it's time to revise and organize, you need a technique that works for you. For author Sue Ingebretson, she needed a way to see her work more visually than just pages on a computer screen. In this interview, Ingebretson shares her tips for keeping information organized in your book with the help of visual aids. Using index cards and a highlighter, she was able to storyboard the ideas and themes in her manuscript. Once she identified all of the themes, she reshuffled and reorganized the cards—and her manuscript—to create a more structured, flowing book.

Hi Sue, thanks for the idea of using index cards. I was listing the ideas on a sheet of paper then trying o move them around in my computer. The idea does help sorting out the right sequence to tell the story. Norman
