For author and biographer Brian Jay Jones, his latest book, George Lucas: A Life, required a very different approach from his previous work. George Lucas is a very private person and because Jones did not have access to Lucas or his family he had to get creative with his research. Jones treated the project as archival research and gathered anything written or filmed on George Lucas, which turned into a huge project. He found lots of great interview content which allowed him to tell a complete story. For Jones, one of the keys to a great biography is for the writer to get out of the way and let the subject tell the story.
