Working with another author on a book can present some unique challenges, but can also lead to the best possible version of the book. Author Learning Center President Keith Ogorek co-wrote his most recent nonfiction book with another author, and advises authors to make sure your goals and purpose for writing are in alignment up front when collaborating with another author. Your project will likely get derailed if you wait until you are well into the book to do this. He also recommends authors collaborate on the outline including how the chapters should flow, how long the book should be, and what titles to use as comps.Ogorek strongly believes if you are on the same page from the beginning and establish a supportive relationship, you will help improve each other's writing throughout the writing and revision process.
