A writer's voice is the individual style and energy that he or she brings to a story, and this voice can evolve and become more refined over time. Many writers worry that their voice isn't unique enough or appealing. Media arts instructor Dan Watanabe says the best way for writers to develop a unique voice is " to not worry about it". Per Watanabe, all of your history, upbringing, experiences, and knowledge will contribute to your writer voice. If a writer stays true to his or her unique perspective, It will come through naturally in the writing. For example, as an instructor, he knows that if he gives his class full of writing students all the same topic to write about, they will each come with their own, unique perspective on the topic.
