Bill - one piece of advice comes from John Locke (https://www.authorlearningcenter.com/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=john+locke&x=0&y=0). He suggests you avoid research while you are writing. Just make notes about what you need to fill in with research and keep moving. That way you don't get distracted while writing by looking up the name of a street or a building in your town, for instance.

That's strange...I've been told to do the complete opposite, and to research as much as possible. Perhaps this is because I'm working on writing an autobiography/memoir...Interesting advice though
