Author and biographer Brian Jay Jones can't recall how he ended up on Jim Henson's Wikipedia page, but instinct led him to pursue writing the biography, Jim Henson: The Biography. When Jones realized that a biography hadn't yet been written about the legend, he immediately knew what his next project would be. Living in close proximity to where Jim Henson grew up, Jones was able to get a good contact for the privately owned Jim Henson company. Getting the project approved by the family was a long process, but he ultimately received their approval and access to the privately-held archives, which had a huge impact on the project.
