While running her writing seminar business, author, editor, and speaker Sharon Norris Elliott has noticed that many Christian authors nowadays are interested in writing memoirs. She says she reminds these authors that many memoirs are successful because of the person who wrote them – of course audiences will want to read the memoir of a famous person, like Michelle Obama or Condoleezza Rice. So, Norris Elliott asks, “who are you, and who cares?” She advises memoirists to let their personal story be under the points they are trying to make. Your life is not the main focus. Instead, readers will want know what happened in your life that matters to them, so make that the main point, illustrated by examples from your life.
To be true in that one part the outcome.
