Author Janet Mitchell on Her Publishing Journey for Her Book, "Taking a Stand"

Author and speaker Janet Mitchell began writing about her harrowing experiences with a major medical mistake so that her attorney would have all of the facts for her case. After reviewing her writing, Mitchell's attorney requested that she put more emotion into it, and then suggested that her story should become a book. It took Mitchell eight years to complete the manuscript and she had to publish other nonfiction work before a traditional publisher would consider her personal story. Her book Taking a Stand is not only a legal thriller, but also includes themes of faith and perseverance.
