Singer-songwriter Richard Marx has sold more than 30 million albums, scored 14 chart-topping singles, and has earned a Grammy for song of the year. With all of this past success, what continues to drive him to write music? This is a question that Marx himself struggles with at times, mainly because of how much the music industry has changed from when he first started songwriting. While Marx aspires to write another successful album, he knows that the accolades for a hit album and the response to great music are not what they used to be. Marx's primary driver to continue to write songs is the music in his head that he just can't escape. He wants to make beautiful music, pure and simple.
